When the time comes to decommission the application, or the CDN is no longer required, we can simply delete the CloudFront distribution:
- Before deleting, any enabled distribution needs to be disabled. Select the distribution you wish to delete and then click the Disable button:
- A confirmation window will pop up to disable the distribution, so please click on Yes, Disable:
- Once you have initiated the disable process, please wait until the status changes to Deployed, which can take some time depending on the amount of content in the distribution. Once the status is reported as Deployed, we can again select the distribution and then click on the Delete button:
- Another confirmation window will pop up and if we are sure we would like to delete the distribution, we can click Yes, Delete. This is the final step and will delete our CloudFront distribution:
