Items are collections of attributes that are written to and read from a DynamoDB table. The maximum size of a DynamoDB item is 400 KB, which includes all the attribute names and values. We can issue standard HTTP PUT/GET/UPDATE/DELETE requests to perform Create, Read, Update, and Delete (CRUD) operations. We are able to address each item individually by specifying the primary key and a sort key if one exists. We are also able to perform batch read and batch write operations against a table. Batch read operations are able to retrieve up to 100 items of up to 16 MB in size, whereas batch write operations can create up to 25 items at a time.
