Application versions are always created as packaged bundles. These are required to be either ZIP or WAR files of up to 512 MB in size. The application is required to be stored in the root of the file, but it can have as many subdirectories as needed. The package can also contain additional customization that's defined in the .ebextensions file and additional packages, libraries, and other bundles that are referenced by .ebextensions. When deploying a worker environment, we are required to include a cron.yaml file where we define and configure the cron jobs that will initiate the worker process in the application.
