We have examined the Apache Ignite Query API. The query API offers three styles: predicate-based, SQL-based and text-based query. This chapter covered the full text search, scan query, distributed SQL query, field query, custom SQL function, Lucene-based fuzzy query, and data affinity.

Distributed computing is an important component of the Apache Ignite architecture. The chapter concluded with the compute grid and distributed computation using the following APIs: MapReduce/ForkJoin, ExecutorService, and Job scheduling.

The Chapter 5, Building Microservices with Service Grid, will cover the Service Grid component of Apache Ignite and develop a microservice on top of Service Grid.
