PART I

PREPARATION VERSUS IMPROVISATION

If you want to master this thing called wealth, you have to become a master of preparation. People who prepare have a vision and a goal. They prepare for every win and loss on the horizon. People who improvise are led by the wind. They may be talented and gifted in business, but they can also be their own worst enemy. Every day could mean a new idea or a new vision, but those ideas will never be realized if they are simply blown around. My mentor Les Brown taught me a principle that I have used for years and that I will pass on to my children: “It is better to be prepared and not called than to be called and not prepared.”

Let me be very clear: wanting the call for success does not make you unique. Everyone wants the call. What makes you unique is preparing for the call and never knowing when or if it’s going to come. Preparation is a millionaire mindset. Making the when, the how, and the where none of your business but refusing to get out of position is a masterful level of the millionaire mindset. I want you to master the art of being prepared. I want you to commit to a mindset of preparation. Without that commitment, you will never be able to break the cycle of generational existence. Existing alone is not enough to create a legacy of generational wealth.
