FRIENDS VERSUS FOES

My definition of a friend is “a person, place, or thing that pushes you toward your goal.” A foe is “a person, place, or thing that pushes you away from your goal.” So, for example, a foe can be your job or your house. A friend can be your neighborhood or your education level. In the context of this book, friends and foes are not the people you grew up with or your competition for your next promotion. They are instead friends and foes to your goals and the very idea of your success.

So, to be successful, you must first identify these friends and foes in everything you do as you take steps toward meeting each and every goal on your way to larger success. Before you take one more step, I want you to sit down and think about your friends and foes because you will never master the idea of wealth and becoming a first-generation millionaire without knowing who or what is working for or against you.
