Summary

The Renew phase delivers the results that will guide the building and implementation of the business process and enabler solution. It uses all the work products delivered in earlier phases to design and evaluate options for change. It tests and then picks one approach that will best serve the goals of the business. The Renew phase is both highly technical through process model development and highly personal through creative thinking workshops and process scenarios. It is the culmination of the Process Management Framework. At the end of the Renew phase is the most important checkpoint of the framework. Before this, the cost will have been a fraction of the cost of developing and implementing the chosen solution.

The following two phases, Develop and Implement, will work out the details of the solution and build or acquire the enabling technologies and human capabilities. They will also roll out the solutions across the organization in a logical sequence. They will be the vehicle to deliver new capabilities.
