Summary

This chapter has introduced the Process Management Framework. It’s an approach to deliver process-oriented business change and improved business performance for the organization’s stakeholders.

Through the eight well-defined phases of the framework, an organization can look at an overall business area and produce a program of process-based change. The framework helps the organization design new process solutions, and then realize the design by developing and implementing the solutions. It also provides an environment for ongoing improvement as a result of process management conducted by process owners.

Chapters 10 through 16 are intended for practitioners. These chapters go into greater detail about the phases and provide lessons learned in conducting the steps of each phase.

The next three chapters deal with the associated professional areas required to manage any organizational transformation: project management, risk management, and human change management. These will round out the aspects of transformation required to succeed.
