Cloud-solution providers can quickly deploy solutions. Despite that, you should set a deployment schedule that provides sufficient time for training, testing, and benchmarking. Many organizations that are moving to the cloud for the first time, with a new application, will establish a beta-like release schedule that offers employees a prerelease opportunity to interact with the software and to provide feedback. Further, the testing period may provide time for the company to establish early system-performance benchmarks.

As you begin to plan your cloud migration, you should establish a roadmap that illustrates the key migration tasks. Using the framework, you can then identify and group underlying subtasks and resource requirements.
