D.2 SALIENT FEATURES OF Core2Duo
Intel Core2Duo has various versions out of which processors belonging to series E7000 and series E8000
are most common. In this appendix, we shall discuss some basic features taking E8000 as an example case.
The reader may note that the operating speed of series E7000 processors of this group is marginally slower
than that of the series E8000. As a matter of fact, E8000 version is available in various operating clock
speeds like 3.33 GHz (Giga Hertz), 3.16 GHz, 3.00 GHz, 2.83 GHz and 2.66 GHz. For the purpose of
comparison, we may observe the available operational speeds of E7000 versions as 3.06 GHZ, 2.93 GHz,
2.80 GHz, 2.66 GHz and 2.53 GHz. The processor is binary compatible with previous processors from
