About the Authors
Kathleen Brooks: Kathleen is the research director at FOREX.com and has over eight years of experience in financial markets. FX is her specialty. She has worked in the institutional and retail side of forex trading, starting out as a trading analyst with BP. Kathleen produces research on G10 and emerging-market currencies using both fundamental and technical analysis methods. She focuses on providing FOREX.com clients with actionable trading ideas on a daily basis, alongside producing longer-term strategic pieces of research.
Kathleen has spearheaded FOREX.com’s award-winning research offering since she joined Gain Capital in 2010. She also led the development of its social media presence; the @FOREXcom Twitter account that she contributes to has more than 50,000 followers.
Her views on financial markets, economics, and politics are regularly quoted in the global financial press. She is a familiar face to many as a regular on business TV, including Bloomberg, BBC, Sky News, and Fox Business, both in the UK and farther afield. She also presents weekly webinars for FOREX.com and FXStreet and has spoken at forex and finance conferences around the world, including in London, the Middle East, and Australia.
As of 2013, Kathleen is also a published author, having penned Kathleen Brooks on Forex (Harriman House). Kathleen and her team at FOREX.com won Best Analysis at the 2014 FXStreet Forex Best Awards. She is a graduate of both Trinity College Dublin and Columbia University.

Dedication
This book is dedicated to all the clients at FOREX.com who have made our jobs so rewarding and interesting. Without their enthusiasm for learning about the complex world of forex, this book would not exist.
Authors’ Acknowledgments
Readers of this book will benefit from the experience we’ve gained from our time at GAIN Capital. From the trading team to marketing and client services, there are so many people who have helped to guide the research team and make it what it is today. A special mention to Samantha Roady, for setting the whole process in motion and encouraging us to go the full distance. How could we forget the rest of FOREX.com’s award-wining research team: Chris Tedder, Matt Weller, Fawad Razaqzada, and Neal Gilbert. You can thank them for contributing their superb forex-trading strategies to the appendix of this book. Finally, thanks to all the editors and staff at John Wiley & Sons, Inc., who have helped with this third edition, especially Stacy Kennedy, for organizing the book in the first place.
