The unspoiled landscape of the Sierra del Escambray, where pine and eucalyptus grow alongside exuberant trees, ferns and tropical plants, offers extraordinarily beautiful scenery that can best be seen by hiking from Topes de Collantes. You start by walking through the tropical forest as far as the Caburní falls, before the terrain becomes easier and less tiring, with a detour to the Batata cave.
