EXPLORING PRAGUE
There is a wealth of things to see and do in Prague. Whether you’re here just for the weekend or have the luxury of a couple of extra days, these two- and four-day itineraries will help you plan your time and make the most of your visit.
Two Days in Prague
Day 1
Marvel at the Old Town Square, taking in the Astronomical Clock. Ramble through the tiny lanes toward Charles Bridge.
Meander through Malá Strana, pausing at St. Nicholas Church (Malostranské náměstí). Hike up Nerudova—note the house signs—to Prague Castle, where you can tour the Old Royal Palace and St. Vitus Cathedral.
Day 2
Begin at Josefov and the Jewish Museum (U Staré školy 141/1). Don’t miss the Old Jewish Cemetery. The Convent of St. Agnes nearby houses the National Gallery’s medieval art.
Take in Wenceslas Square, the heart of the New Town. Admire the National Museum (Václavské náměstí 68) before walking down Narodní toward the river to the National Theater (Národní 2).
Four Days in Prague
Day 1
Visit the Powder Gate and Municipal House (náměstí Republiky 5) before making your way to the Old Town Square. Then stroll to Charles Bridge.
Wander through Malá Strana via Nerudova to Prague Castle and its Old Royal Palace, St. Vitus Cathedral, and Golden Lane.
Day 2
Spend time at the Jewish Museum (U Staré školy 141/1), focusing on the Old Jewish Cemetery. Explore exclusive Pařížská street, then stop by the Convent of St. Agnes.
Head to the river and walk south along it to the National Theater (Národní 2) and the Dancing House (Jiráskovo nám. 1981/6). Then take stately Narodní to Wenceslas Square.
Day 3
Start at Malostranské náměstí. Amble through Malá Strana’s green spaces, such as Kampa Island and Wallenstein Garden (Letenská). Make for Petřín Hill and ride the funicular up.
From Petřín, head to Strahov Monastery (Strahovské nádvoří 1/132) and to The Loreto. Be sure to stroll down tranquil Nový Svět.
Day 4
View the National Gallery’s modern and contemporary art at the Trade Fair Palace. Then check out Výstaviště and nearby Stromovka. From here you can walk to Prague Zoo (U Trojského zámku 3/120).
Explore Vyšehrad, the city’s spiritual home. Be sure to visit the Slavín Monument, Casemates, and Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral.
