The value for Days to retain files in OneDrive after a user account is marked for deletion governs how long a OneDrive site will be accessible. It is not the same as a Retention Policy (formerly called a Preservation Policy), which stores deleted items in the Preservation Hold Library. The minimum value for this setting is 30 days and the maximum value is 3,650 days (10 years).

Earlier in this chapter, you configured Access Delegation under My Site Cleanup. In addition to an account stored in the user's manager attribute, you also configured an additional administrator. Those specified users would be able to access files in a deleted user's OneDrive for Business site for the duration specified in Days to retain files in OneDrive after a user account is marked for deletion.
