OneNote combines features from several existing programs. It contains some of the word processing features of Microsoft Word, the handwriting capabilities of the Windows XP for Tablet PC Journal, and a variety of features of other third-party programs such as Note Flags, searching, and linked audio.
Since many of OneNote's editing features are loosely based on Microsoft Word, we'll compare Word and OneNote in this chapter.
