Part Three
Other Tasks You May Need to Complete in QuickBooks
Part Three covers features and tasks in QuickBooks that are either optional or used less frequently than those covered in the previous two parts. Tracking inventory, for example, is something that not all QuickBooks users need to do—but for businesses that need to keep track of the on-hand quantities of the products that they sell, Chapter 15 is required reading.
Using Bank Feeds (aka Online Banking) can be a big time saver and can also help you keep accurate bank balances in QuickBooks. Learn more about this feature in Chapter 16.
The last two chapters of Part Three cover tasks that you won’t necessarily be doing every day, but they are nonetheless very important. Journal entries, covered in Chapter 17, are special transactions that are used to make changes directly to an account without using a regular transaction (such as an invoice or check). Chapter 18 tells you what you can do to prepare your QuickBooks data for year end and for your accountant.
