In Windows Phone 8, the Pivot
and Panorama
controls have been removed from the SDK and are now located in the phone’s read-only memory (ROM). They are still used the same way in your code, but at runtime the Windows Phone OS uses the classes from the ROM. This way your app can use a separate native input thread, which means a significant increase in the input responsiveness of these controls. The working set memory of the Panorama
control has also been reduced.
