Stephen Keeling has been exploring America’s national parks since 1991 (50 so far). He worked as a financial journalist for seven years before writing his first travel guide, and has since worked on numerous titles for DK, including award-winning DK Eyewitness New York City. He lives in the Big Apple.

James Edward Mills is a freelance journalist who specializes in environmental conservation and outdoor recreation. With a particular interest in diversity and inclusion, his work centers upon the narratives of those often forgotten throughout the enduring legacy of public land management and our natural heritage.

Roger Naylor is an award-winning Southwest author and travel writer. He specializes in state and national parks, lonely hiking trails, twisting back roads, diners with burgers sizzling on the grill, small towns, ghost towns, and pie.

Becky Ohlsen is a travel writer and has been visiting national parks since childhood. She’s studied faces in the rock formations at Arches, tried sledding down the Great Sand Dunes, spotted a grizzly bear at Glacier, and gazed into the abyss at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison.

Stefanie Payne is a communications strategist at NASA. When not telling the story of exploration in space, she writes about exploration on Earth. In 2016, she road-tripped to every US national park to document America’s treasured lands.

Access Tips and Resources All national parks have an accessibility guide on their homepage. US residents with a permanent disability can get a free lifetime pass good for admission to all national parks. Proof of residence and disability is required (www.nps.gov/planyourvisit/passes.htm).

Service animals, as defined in the Americans with Disabilities Act, are welcome at all national park facilities. Emotional Support Animals are considered pets and must abide by park pet regulations (www.nps.gov/planyourvisit/service-animals.htm).
