Negotiating and Closing the Deal
Part 3 of this book addresses what to do from the time that you receive an offer all the way to the time of closing. An offer must be properly evaluated and can be negotiated to be more beneficial to you, as well as to protect you. We show you how to assess the quality of the offer and negotiate it by making “counteroffers” until you and your buyer come to an agreement. Then, we walk you through the stages of a deal such as the home inspection, environmental issues, appraisal, mortgage contingencies, and final walk-through. Finally, we show you how to calculate your profit, detail your preclosing responsibilities, and talk about everything that happens at the closing table, as well as offering a simple guide to packing and moving.
