This is not just a Champagne cocktail—this is the Champagne cocktail. The recipe can be traced back to 1862, making it one of the true pioneers in mixing cocktails with Champagne and the inspiration for many other fizz drinks. Biscuit and cereal notes of Champagne are integral to the flavor—Prosecco simply won’t do!

the CLASSIC RECIPE

Slightly sweet yet very bold, this drink makes a great winter warmer.

1. Place the sugar cube in the center of the glass.

2. Cover with 5 drops Angostura bitters.

3. Add 4/5 fl oz (25ml) brandy.

4. Top with Champagne.
