KIR ROYALE

Now considered a classic in its own right, the Kir Royale is a bubbly variation on a traditional French white wine cocktail, the Kir. Simple yet sophisticated, the Kir Royale consists of only two ingredients: crème de cassis and Champagne. Both recipes are named after Canon Felix Kir, a French priest who created the original Kir cocktail recipe. Elegant and easy to make, this cocktail makes the perfect dinner party aperitif.

The blackcurrant liqueur gives this cocktail a striking red color.

1. Pour ¹/₂ fl oz (15ml) crème de cassis into a Champagne flute.

2. Top with Champagne.
