Furry Friends

Get up close and personal with chimps, pelicans, creepy-crawlies and giant pandas at Edinburgh Zoo. Home to over 1,000 animals with a vast expanse of space to roam, it makes for a great day out for animal lovers of all ages. The zoo places strong emphasis on conservation, and many animals here are rare or endangered species. Fun activities and talks take place throughout the day to teach children about the animals.

Adventures in Science

Young visitors to Glasgow Science Centre can take an incredible voyage inside the human body, walk among the planets or travel to the far reaches of outer space at exciting interactive exhibits like BodyWorks and the Planetarium.

Swing From The Treetops

Go Ape offers treetop-level high ropes and zip-wire adventures at outstanding locations throughout Scotland, including the grounds of Crathes Castle near Aberdeen, Queen Elizabeth Forest Park in the Trossachs, and Glentress Forest.

Hit The Slopes

Tobogganing, snowboarding, skiing and ice climbing are among the adrenaline activities on offer at this year-round indoor winter sports centre just 10 minutes from central Glasgow. There is also a soft play area for little ones who aren’t quite ready to hit the slopes.

Get Lost in Traquair Maze

In the grounds of a fabulous historic mansion, this miniature labyrinth of lovingly tended Leylandi Cyprus trees is the longest maze of its kind in Scotland and is a guaranteed child-pleaser.
