t A Question of Perception, an exhibit where nothing is quite as it seems

Opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 2001, Glasgow Science Centre’s titanium-clad futuristic structures are designed to mimic the hull of a ship, a homage to the Clyde’s maritime and industrial heritage. The buildings are linked by a teflon fabric roof and a “discovery” tunnel.

Inside, the three-storey Science Mall uses interactive exhibits, laboratories and multimedia tools to take visitors of all ages on a journey through the inner workings of cutting-edge applied science, from solar power to artificial intelligence and the latest advancements in quantum physics.

Next door, Scotland’s only IMAX Theatre projects breathtaking images from the natural and scientific world on to its 24-m (80-ft) by 18-m (60-ft) screen. Other exhibits include a lab where you can examine your hair and skin, and a spectacular planetarium featuring a state-of-the-art full-dome digital projection system.
