This is a go-to snack for me and for fighters I work with because it’s low in carbs, fats, and calories but high in protein and flavor! Turkey burgers are versatile and not only go great on buns but also on top of salads, chopped up with rice dishes, or as an entrée protein.
Makes: 4 burgers
Serving size: 1 burger
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 8 to 10 minutes
INGREDIENTS
1lb (450g) lean ground turkey (99%)
1 cup chopped baby spinach
1⁄2 cup crumbled feta cheese
1 tsp pink Himalayan sea salt
1 tsp white pepper
1 large egg
1⁄2 cup fine oat bran or old-fashioned oats
DIRECTIONS
1 Heat the grill to hot.
2 In a bowl, combine all the ingredients. Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties and cook until completely cooked through, about 4 minutes per side.
3 Remove the burgers from the grill, place on buns, and add your favorite toppings or place on top of salad greens. Serve immediately.
