One study he performed with Cambridge students indicated that the engineers, mathematicians, physicists, and computer scientists among them had a greater number of AS-like traits—strong abilities in rule-based systems coupled with difficulty in empathizing—compared with their peers in the arts, humanities, and social sciences.
