GOALS

Developing sound goals is critical to your HIIT performance. If you want to see long-term, sustainable success, then you need to be clear about what you want to accomplish. Successful goal setting requires SMART goals. Keep this acronym in mind when you consider what you want to achieve.

Once you’ve made your goals, help yourself stick to them by writing them down, making a plan to achieve them, and sharing them with friends and family. Be prepared for setbacks, and don’t let minor slip ups cause you to lose focus.

SMART GOALS ARE…

Specific.
Simply and clearly define what you are going to do.

Measurable.
You should be able to provide tangible evidence that you have met your goal.

Achievable.
Make goals that are both challenging and realistic.

Results-driven.
Goals should be relevant and measure outcomes, not activities.

Time-bound.
Goals should be linked to a time frame that creates a practical sense of urgency. Give yourself a deadline.
