FINAL THOUGHTS

What do you need to do in order to be authentic in your practice and make more art?

If you feel compelled to make the art you’ve always known you were destined to make, then this is the path for you—whether you’ve always made time for art, never painted in your life, or put your dreams on hold for far too long. We are born creative with a desire to express ourselves, and making art is one of the most joyful ways we can do that. How can you find a balance between trusting yourself to make your artwork and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone?

Living a creative life doesn’t happen overnight. You can’t skip practicing, and you need to have patience to grow and become the artist you’re meant to be. When you’re determined to live a creative life, the passion for the work must come before the show, before sharing on social media, and before the fantasy of being an artist. Before anything. That’s what we, as artists, must do—study and explore everything to do with making art and discover what lights us up when we make art for ourselves first.

You must make your art in order to know how to make your art.

This is what being a limitless creative means. It’s not just about understanding color. It’s about transforming where you were and becoming something new that’s more powerful and exciting. It’s about taking every part of your soul and putting it in your artwork and being willing to take risks. My hope is that this book leads you in that direction.

“Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.”

—ANDY WARHOL
