Like weighted routing, failover routing allows us to deliver content from several AWS endpoints but with an active/passive approach, where one endpoint is active and taking all the traffic, and a secondary endpoint is the passive one that is designed to take the traffic of the active one if that one fails. This approach is useful when we have an application that synchronizes the content only from the active to the passive endpoint asymmetrically.
