On Apple macOS, the best approach to installation is to use the installer application available at the Qt download site. Visit www.qt.io/download and download the macOS installer. Once it has downloaded, open the package and run the program inside; this will install the selected compilers, tools, and supporting applications. If you encounter any errors during installation, the first step would be to check that your Xcode installation is complete and up to date (for more information, see the Installation Details appendix).
