How it works...

In this recipe, we created a floating rule that matches UDP traffic on ports 5198 and 5199 (the EchoLink ports), and places said traffic into the VoIP queue. We also placed ACK packets into a separate ACK queue (qACK) to try to expedite the sending of ACK packets. We could have placed the UDP packets into the qOthersHigh queue (the high priority queue), but the previous recipe did not create a high priority queue other than the VoIP queue. EchoLink TCP traffic is reserved for non-VoIP purposes (for example, downloading listings of users); therefore, TCP traffic does not need to go into the VoIP queue, so it was placed in the qOthersDefault queue. As with the UDP rule, we diverted ACK packets into a separate queue.
