Regulatory and tax reporting

In every country and industry, businesses have to produce many regulatory and tax reporting documents to serve the local government. Many of these reports are dependent on data from the Operational and Financial data in your ERP system. These reports have a pre-defined layout and format defined by the government agencies and must be delivered in paper or electronic format.

In Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, such reporting requirements can be handled through a tool called Electronic Reporting, also known as ER. Using the ER, you can configure document formats for both incoming and outgoing electronic documents in accordance with the legal requirements of various countries/regions. Microsoft delivers and supports hundreds of such electronic documents, all of which are applicable to various countries out of the box. Microsoft also maintains and ships updated configurations as regulations and requirements change from government agencies.

A customer or partner can use ER tools to override any existing electronic documents or can create a completely new configuration. ER tools provide extensive functionality to manage the complete life cycle, including designing, versioning, and publishing an electronic document. The great thing about the ER is that its all configuration instead of code and that makes the processes of creating and adjusting formats for electronic documents faster and easier.
