Projects are the key organizers of your experience in LCS. Projects let you invite your partners to collaborate with you, and they also let you track the project's progress.

The following are the salient characteristics of a project in LCS:

• Each customer who purchases Microsoft D365FO will receive one LCS implementation project. Customers can then add their partner/CSP/VAR as a user to those LCS projects.
• Based on the offer selected by the customer, the features in this project's workspace will be enabled.
• Environments included in the offer will be deployed and managed by Microsoft.
• The Action center will guide you through the required actions that must be completed, including upcoming updates.
• A new methodology experience includes locked tasks as you progress through the implementation.
• A more complete audit trail specifying who completed each methodology phase and what tasks.
• Milestones can be used to track critical project dates.
• The organization that owns a project must maintain a valid service plan to keep the project active and is responsible for all the charges related to the project.
• Partner users can see the implementation project for each customer using their credentials.
• Before kicking off, you should complete the required configuration for LCS for SharePoint and Azure DevOps/Visual Studio Team Services.
