Report Manager provides the option to have reports automatically generated and delivered based on a schedule. The report can be delivered via an e-mail or file sharing. The file sharing method allows the report to be saved in a folder that can be accessed by others when they choose.
Let's set up a subscription for the sales commissions report so that it can be automatically e-mailed to Linda on the first of the month.
- Click on the Subscription menu item on the left-hand side.
- Click on the toolbar item called New Subscription.
- Set the To property to
linda_diaz(or your own e-mail so that you will get the e-mail). - Select PDF for the Render Format drop-down list.
- Add a comment to the Comment property.
- Select On a shared schedule option button.
- Select the shared schedule we created, called First of Month at 2 am.
- Select the Use Default checkbox to the left of the Requested Date and SalesPersonID parameters.
- Click on the OK button.
