For better performance it is recommended to install the Reporting Services Database on a separate server than the Reporting Services installation. This allows the Reporting Services Server to not have to share resources. This can be critical when larger reports are being generated with charts or complicated tables. The default location is to install Reporting Services on the same server as the SQL Server engine.
