Suggestions for Professional Organizations

Resources for Staying Current

If you have a team member who is focused exclusively on crafting e-learning content, groups like the eLearning Guild or Online Learning Consortium may be helpful, but if you are leading a TD organization and need greater breadth, an association like the Association for Talent Development (ATD) might work better, and there are local chapters in many cities.

Other professional organizations include:

• Training Industry (trainingindustry.com)

• i4cp (Institute for Corporate Productivity; i4cp.com)

• CLO (Chief Learning Officer; chieflearningofficer.com)

• SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management; shrm.org)

Branding Learning Through Professional Recognition

In the learning arena there are several ways to do this, including:

• Applying for an ATD BEST Award (td.org/best-awards)

• CLO’s LearningElite (learningelite.clomedia.com)

Training magazine’s Training 100 (trainingmag.com/training-magazine-ranks-2019-training-top-125-organizations)

Additionally, the Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence criteria and process are geared toward the organizational level (msqpc.com/business-solutions/baldrige-assessment).
