Chocolate Banana Post-Workout Shake

After a hard workout, your body needs carbs and protein to replenish energy stores and repair tired muscles, as well as fluids, sodium, and potassium to rehydrate your body and restore electrolytes. This shake checks all the boxes—it’s recovery in a glass!

Makes: 1 serving

Serving size: 16fl oz (473ml)

1 medium frozen banana (be sure to peel before freezing)

1 scoop chocolate whey protein powder

¾ cup low-fat (1%) milk

Handful baby spinach

Pinch of salt

  1. In a blender, combine the banana, protein powder, milk, spinach, and salt. Blend until smooth.
  2. Pour into a glass and serve promptly.

{TIP}

If you don’t have protein powder, you can substitute 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt.
