Connecting AWS IoT Button to a network

In this section, we will connect our AWS IoT Button to a network. Consider the following steps:

  1. Firstly, press the button on the AWS IoT Button hardware until you see a blinking blue LED on the hardware. Then, you should see SSID Wi-Fi from AWS IoT Button, with the name Button ConfigureMe XXX:
  1. To connect to the AWS IoT Button Wi-Fi, you should enter the SSID pin which is eight digits. You can find it on the back of AWS IoT Button, as shown in the following screenshot. Take eight digits from the back, for instance 1234KL34. Remove the space:
  1. After connection, you can open a browser and navigate to http://192.168.0.1/index.html. You should see the screen that is shown in the following screenshot:
  1. Fill in your existing SSID and its pin. You also need to upload the certificate and private key files that you obtain while registering AWS IoT Button. You need to fill in the Endpoint Subdomain and Endpoint Region fields. To find Endpoint Subdomain, you can see your AWS IoT endpoint on AWS IoT Management Console. Click on the Settings menu. You should see the AWS IoT endpoint on AWS IoT Management Console.

We have now configured AWS IoT Button. Your AWS IoT Button can access AWS IoT now.
