APEROL SPRITZ

image

This cocktail is the quintessential Italian aperitif. Aperol, a bitter, citrus-flavored liqueur, was invented by the Barbieri brothers in Padua in 1919 and first combined with soda water and dry Prosecco to make this famous spritz in the 1950s. It is the perfect light, refreshing drink for a summer’s day.

the CLASSIC RECIPE

With or without soda water? Both versions taste great, so it’s up to you.

1. Fill a red wine glass with ice cubes.

2. Add 2 fl oz (60ml) Aperol.

3. Top with Prosecco.

4. Add soda water for a lighter drink.
