Linking and Embedding Other Files

Excel workbooks can hold a lot of data, and you can make your data even more meaningful when you include files created with other programs. For example, you might have created a Word document with important background information or a PowerPoint presentation that puts your data into context for your colleagues. You can include those files in your worksheets by linking or embedding the files as objects.

Embed a File in a Worksheet

  2. In the Text group, click Object.

  4. Click Browse.

  5. Navigate to the folder that contains the file to which you want to link.

  6. Double-click the file you want to embed in your workbook.

  7. Click OK.
