Formatting Cell Borders

The grid that appears on the standard worksheet uses light gray lines to mark cell boundaries, but those boundary lines don’t distinguish one area of the worksheet from another. One way you can make a group of cells stand out from other groups is to draw a border on the edge of the cells. You can also change the color of any border you add to your worksheet.

Draw Borders

  1. Select the cells around which you want to draw a border.

  2. Click the Home tab.

  3. Click the Border button’s down arrow.

  4. Click the type of border you want to apply.
