You need a Mac (macOS 10.11.5 or later) to develop the iOS apps that are implemented in this book. Also, the latest version of Xcode is required to run those codes since it contains all the features that are necessary to design, develop, and debug any app. 

To download the latest version of Xcode, follow these steps:

1. Open the App Store on your Mac (it's in the Dock by default).
2. Type Xcode in the search field, which is at the top-right corner. Then press the return key.

3. The first search result that turns up is the Xcode app.
4. Click on Get and then click on Install App.
5. Enter your Apple ID and password.
6. Xcode will be downloaded in your /Applications directory.
