Jim Elferdink’s first book, AppleWorks 6: The Missing Manual, was one of the original three Missing Manuals. He went on to write iWork ’05: The Missing Manual and with this volume completes a hat trick of books about productivity suites for the Macintosh. In former lifetimes a commercial photographer, carpenter, and cabinetmaker; currently, he runs Macs for the Masses, a Macintosh consulting company in the redwoods of far Northern California. He balances writing, Mac consulting, and training with gourmet cooking, digital photography, and racing sports cars. Humboldt State University introduced him to the original Macintosh and to comely professor Joy Hardin. He bought one and married the other. They share a home in coastal Humboldt County with a staff of imaginary servants and a backlog of very real chores.

Jim welcomes courteous commentary on this book by email: .
