In this chapter, we looked at managing services, endpoints, users, projects, and roles through both the command line and the dashboard. Now that we have created users and assigned them roles in projects to manage virtual resources, let's start collecting the resources needed to launch an instance. The first resource that is needed before an instance can be launched is a disk image for that instance to launch from.

In the next chapter, we will look at Glance, the disk image management component, and how to import and build images to launch instances.
