Startup and shutdown command reference

This section lists the various startup and shutdown commands that can be run from the command line, in addition to the location of the primary log file of the service being started:

  • For OHS: Replace ohs_1 with the name of the OHS instance:
    • Startup:
      source envWebTier.sh
$MSERVER_HOME/bin/startComponent.sh ohs_1
    • Shutdown:
      source envWebTier.sh
$MSERVER_HOME/bin/stopComponent.sh ohs_1
    • Log file:
      source envWebTier.sh
cat $MSERVER_HOME/servers/ohs_1/logs/ohs_1.log
  • For AdminServer
    • Startup:
      source envMidTier.sh
cd $ASERVER_HOME/servers/AdminServer/logs
nohup $ASERVER_HOME/bin/startWebLogic.sh > AdminServer.out &
    • Shutdown:
      source envMidTier.sh
$ASERVER_HOME/bin/stopWebLogic.sh
    • Log file:
      source envMidTier.sh
cat $ASERVER_HOME/servers/AdminServer/logs/AdminServer.out
  • For managed servers:
    • Startup: Replace wls_soa1 with the name of the managed server:
      source envMidTier.sh
cd $MSERVER_HOME/servers/wls_soa1/logs
nohup $MSERVER_HOME/bin/startManagedWebLogic.sh wls_soa1 http://admin.packt.com:7001 > wls_soa1.out &
    • Shutdown: Replace the highlighted text with the name of the managed server:
      ./stopManagedWebLogic.sh wls_soa1 http://admin.packt.com:7001
    • Log file: Replace the highlighted text with the name of the managed server:
      source envMidTier.sh
cat $MSERVER_HOME/servers/wls_soa1/logs/wls_soa1.out
  • For Node Manager (AdminServer):
    • Startup:
      source envMidTier.sh
cd $ASERVER_HOME/bin
nohup ./startNodeManager.sh > nm.out&
    • Shutdown:
      source envMidTier.sh
$ASERVER_HOME/bin/stopNodeManager.sh
    • Log file:
      source envMidTier.sh
cat $ASERVER_HOME/bin/nm.out
  • For Node Manager (MidTier):
    • Startup:
      source envMidTier.sh
cd $MSERVER_HOME/bin
nohup ./startNodeManager.sh > nm.out&
    • Shutdown:
      source envMidTier.sh
$MSERVER_HOME/bin/stopNodeManager.sh
    • Log file:
      source envMidTier.sh
cat $MSERVER_HOME/bin/nm.out
  • For Node Manager (WebTier):
    • Startup:
      source envWebTier.sh
cd $MSERVER_HOME/bin
nohup ./startNodeManager.sh > nm.out&
    • Shutdown:
      source envWebTier.sh
$MSERVER_HOME/bin/stopNodeManager.sh
    • Log file:
      source envWebTier.sh
cat $MSERVER_HOME/bin/nm.out
