Tight hips make it harder for your pelvis to rotate properly, which can cause your lower back to overcompensateand might put you at a higher risk for injury. Performing this exercise can help lengthen the hip flexor muscles,providing better flexibility and increased range of motion.

1 Stand with your feet together and your arms relaxed at your sides.

2 Step your right foot forward, forming a split stance with your legs, and slightly bend your right knee.

3 Place your right hand on your right thigh and slightly press your right hand down. Push your hips forward until you feel a stretch down the front of your hips. Hold this position for 2 seconds. Reverse your movements to return to your starting position. Perform these steps 6 times. Repeat these steps with your left foot forward.
