Your core muscles protect your spine from excessive loads and transfer force from your lower body to your upper body and vice versa. Having a strong, stable core helps prevent injuries.

1 Sit on the floor with your knees bent and your legs shoulder width apart. Lean backward and place your forearms flat on the floor. Balance your feet on the tips of your toes.

2 Extend your legs toward the ceiling and separate your legs to form a V. Hold this position for 2 seconds. Reverse your movements to return to your starting position. Perform these steps 6 times.
