Writing Portlets in Action has been a grueling task because of its length and the diverse content it covers. When I began writing in July 2009, I was not sure if I would be able to consistently give the necessary time and energy to the project over a period of a year or so.

This book has largely been possible because of the readers who took time to post comments on Manning’s Author Online forum. The forum has been a constant source of inspiration for me and has kept me motivated to complete the book.
