In this chapter, we introduced the SharePoint API landscape and showed how the SharePoint Online API complements existing APIs. We reviewed several scenarios and presented two cases to complement the SPO with the CSOM and REST APIs. Since SharePoint is such an important part of Office 365, we will work with it again in upcoming chapters.
In the next chapter, we will introduce concepts and techniques to streamline the automation of Office 365 scripting.
