24.5. Summary

In this chapter you have been introduced to the new XML object model and the XML language integration within VB.NET. You have also seen how LINQ can be used to query XML documents, and how Visual Studio 2008 IntelliSense enables a rich experience for working with XML in VB.NET.

The next chapter will cover LINQ to SQL and LINQ to Entities, two of the LINQ providers that can be used to query SQL data sources. As demonstrated in this chapter, it is important to remember that LINQ is not dependent on the data source's being a relational database, and that it can be extended to query all manner of data repositories.
