Appendix A. About the Author

Donis Marshall began programming nearly 25 years ago. Over that length of time, he has written thousands of lines of code for several companies. In the last 15 years, he has written many books on computer programming. His books, which include Programming Microsoft Visual C# 2005: The Language, Programming Directory Services for Windows 2000, .NET Security Programming, and ActiveX/OLE Programming: Building Stable Components with Microsoft Foundation Class, encompass a variety of topics. They represent the collective knowledge that he has learned through his years of programming, consulting, and training experience.

Presently, Donis Marshall is the president and chief technology officer of DebugLive (www.debuglive.com). DebugLive offers an assortment of innovative tools to support engineers and developers in debugging and monitoring Win32 and .NET applications. DebugLive is a virtual room where professionals can collaborate and debug remotely.

Donis Marshall also teaches computer programming and consults at software companies, including Microsoft Corporation. He teaches C#, VB.NET, C++, debugging, Microsoft .NET Framework, best practices and policies, and other topics. In this role, Mr. Marshall has traveled the world, giving dozens of classes to Microsoft developers and engineers in the United States, Europe, and Asia. He also has written more than 30 courses on Win32 programming and .NET programming.
